Hello All

First off the subject title means "thanks" in Ojibwe. I recently joing Tribe and happened accross this site (tribe) and thought it would be an interesting topic to delve into. The easiest way for me to Introduce my self is to cut and paste the intro to my biography, as it explains who i am:

Erik-Rune is an accredited counsellor who has worked for the past 2 decades in various capacities in the helping profession. He has worked extensively with marginalized members of society including First Nations People, Homeless People, and New Comers to Canada, Mental Health System Survivours, the GLBTQ Community, Sex Trade Worker, Chemically Dependant and Street Oriented Individuals. He has extensive experience conducting community needs assessment, social programming development and implementation. He has been an HIV/AIDS educator and advocate, and continues to work on various social justice causes. He works from a client/person centred, Wholistic Community Development, Harm Reduction philosophy. He has a counselling diploma from the Negahneewin College of Indigenous Studies as well as a Bachelours of Arts Degree, and various certificates in a range of traditional and alternative mental health and natural health service modalities.

While living in Northern Ontario, Erik spent much of his time with the Nishnawbe elders. During his formative years, he learned the flora and fauna of Northern Ontario; gaining first hand knowledge of which plants have healing properties as well as which plants were dangerous and learned the ways of Traditional Nishnawbek Medicine. Through first hand experience with the traditional ways of life Erik has witnessed the interconnection of all living things. Erik holds the esteemed titles of “Eagle Feather Carrier”, “Sacred Fire Keeper”, and “Spirit Guard” and is a keeper of the sacred medicine bundle.

Why did i want to join thisTribe? Well the answer is not that extended and rather basic, to be honest I have just joined this site (tribe) and am networking to develop interest in my private practice. I am an accredited Wholistic Counsellor, and have recently opened my private practice.

On a spiritual path, I am a practitioner of Sacred Nishnawbek Medicine, or Traditional Native Canadian Medicine. On a secular level I practice alternative mental and natural health counselling. My website can better describe my practice then I can in this introduction
